Best Airbnb Neighborhoods in NJ for MetLife Stadium Access

Updated: June 202625 min read

If you are traveling with a massive group of supporters, renting a house on Airbnb or Vrbo is often vastly cheaper and more enjoyable than booking 5 separate hotel rooms. However, picking the right neighborhood in New Jersey is critical, as public transit does not reach every suburb.

1. Rutherford / East Rutherford

This is the absolute best area to rent a home. It is a beautiful, safe, tree-lined suburb with a highly walkable downtown main street filled with restaurants. Best of all, depending on where your rental is located, you might actually be able to walk to MetLife Stadium, or take a $10 Uber.

2. Secaucus

Secaucus is the transit nervous system of Northern New Jersey. Renting a house or apartment here means you are incredibly close to the Secaucus Junction train station, which offers direct trains to both the stadium and New York City.

3. Montclair

If you want a highly upscale, artsy suburb, Montclair is incredible. It features massive historic homes (perfect for huge groups), world-class dining, and a direct train line into NYC. You will need to take an Uber or drive to the stadium, but it is only a 20-minute ride.

Rental Warnings

  • Parking Rules:

Many NJ suburbs enforce strict street parking rules. Ensure your Airbnb host provides driveway space if you are renting cars.

  • Avoid 'Deep' Suburbs:

Do not rent a cheap house in deep Sussex or Morris county unless you are prepared to drive 1-2 hours in heavy traffic on matchday.
