Best Late-Night Food Spots Open After a MetLife Night Match

Updated: June 202625 min read

Night matches at the World Cup are electric, but by the time you navigate out of the MetLife Stadium parking lots, it can easily be past midnight. While New York City is "the city that never sleeps," navigating the New Jersey suburbs late at night requires a bit more planning if you want a hot meal instead of a vending machine snack.

1. Tick Tock Diner (Clifton, NJ)

Perhaps the most famous diner in all of New Jersey, the Tick Tock Diner is a shimmering chrome beacon of hope located just down Route 3 from the stadium. Operating 24 hours a day, it boasts a menu the size of a novel. Whether you want a triple-decker club sandwich, a massive plate of disco fries (fries smothered in gravy and melted mozzarella), or a stack of pancakes at 2 AM, this is the quintessential post-match Jersey experience.

2. White Manna Hamburgers (Hackensack, NJ)

Located a short drive north of the stadium, White Manna is an absolute institution. Serving incredibly cheap, dangerously addictive sliders loaded with onions and cheese, this tiny, retro diner is famously featured on food network shows worldwide. They are open late and are the perfect quick, greasy meal to absorb the matchday beers.

3. Mamoun's Falafel (Hoboken, NJ)

If you took the train to Secaucus and transferred to Hoboken to avoid the Manhattan crowds, Mamoun's is open until the very early hours of the morning. Known for serving some of the best falafel and shawarma on the East Coast, it is cheap, incredibly fast, and very satisfying after a long night of cheering.

Late Night Logistics

  • Expect Crowds:

Because late-night options are somewhat limited immediately around the stadium, places like the Tick Tock Diner will be absolutely packed with fellow fans.

  • Highway Driving:

Route 3 and Route 17 can still have surprising traffic volume late at night due to stadium egress; use Google Maps or Waze.

  • Deli Sandwiches:

If you don't want a sit-down meal, look for local 24-hour convenience stores or delis and order a 'Fat Sandwich' – a New Jersey staple.
